On November 23, 2021, in the city of Khiva, the Republic of Uzbekistan, an international forum on consumer protection in the field of tourism, organized by the Federation of Consumer Rights Protection Societies of Uzbekistan, was launched.
This Forum discusses issues of international standards of agreements on consumer protection, e-commerce, as well as mechanisms for cross-border consumer protection.
During the discussion of the above topics, the Chairman of the Management Board of Confop D. Yanin, the Representative of the Committee for the Protection of Consumer Rights of the Eurasian Economic Community – Romanovskaya S.Yu., the Chairman of the League of Consumers of Kazakhstan, the Representative of “Roskachestvo” – Vlad Karachev, the Committee for the Protection of Consumer Rights under the Ministry of Trade of Kazakhstan – Ramazan Nurgaliev , as well as the Representative of the Antimonopoly Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan – Khakimzoda A. A representative of the
Consumers Union of Tajikistan also spoke at the event, who noted the importance of taking joint actions between countries to ensure consumer protection in the field of tourism, as well as improve legislation in the field of e-commerce.
Following the results of the Forum, which will continue until November 25, 2021, the adoption of a common Declaration on international standards in the field of cross-border tourism consumer rights is expected.
